Meet the Doctors

  • Dr.
    Dean Renneke

Dr. Dean Renneke is a licensed Chiropractor serving the Brainerd community.

Dr. Dean Renneke became interested in chiropractic while attending and playing sports at Moorhead State University. He had a severe torticollis that was treated by a chiropractor using a technique that actively contracted the stemocleidomastoid muscle. This voluntary active contraction of the non-painful side made the brain involuntarily relax the opposite spastic muscle to relax.  In 15 minutes his range of motion increased by over 90° from this procedure. He knew what he should do and be good at.

Dr. Renneke  is a graduate and former faculty member of Northwestern Health Sciences University. He taught other chiropractors. He is proficient in the following chiropractic techniques, including Gonstead, Activator, Cox, Thompson, ART, Acupuncture, McKenzie protocol, Decompression, laser, and Cupping with or without Acupuncture. We utilize four decompression tables and continue to stay on top of the latest innovations in chiropractic and physical therapy techniques in addition to our 20 hours of annual continuing education.

  • Dr.
    Kurt Wicklund

When I was in 10th grade playing football for the Brainerd Warriors, in the process of catching a pass I dove and landed hard. In result of the fall, I experienced immediate back pain and was unable to walk off the field. The next day, the pain was unbearable, and my coach recommended me to go to Dr. Dean Renneke as many athletes and coaches had been treated by him.  I went and in just one treatment, I was able to practice that afternoon and play in the next game.  I knew then the direction to go with my career.

I am a Brainerd native.  I graduated as a honorgrad with distinction from Brainerd High School and Brainerd Community College.  I was a three sport athlete.  Upon completion of my pre-chiropractic education, I was accepted into Northwestern health sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota and graduated after four years as a Doctor of Chiropractic.  I completed a two year internship at numerous clinics in the Twin Cities before moving back to the Brainerd Lakes Area and joining Renneke chiropractic in April, 1990.  I complete 20 hours of continuing education every two years to better care for my patients.

I enjoy all athletics, especially those that involve watching my sons, hunting, fishing and mainly spending time with my family and friends.  My wife Heather and I, along with our three sons reside in Brainerd.
